Revs Institute Library and Archives is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the world. This session will explain why and how the staff collects, processes, and makes available materials in all formats and languages that promote the study of automotive history. Jessica will explain how the Revs Institute Library is guided by the principles to acquire and preserve materials in multiple formats; nurture an environment of inquiry and access, uphold the highest professional standards, and embrace technological advancements to deliver history. These collections detail the history of the automobile from the dawn of the motoring age through to the present day. Jessica will share how Library staff adhere to standards when processing, digitizing, and preserving collections, including the Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative protocols and digitize at the 4-Star level. She will detail how the Library digitizes over 6,000 images per month and adds them to the Revs Digital Library, which contains over 600,000 images. Lastly, Jessica will explain how the Library readily makes its collections easily accessible through its connections into WorldCat, the Revs Digital Library, LibChat and LibAnswers platforms, and Omeka exhibits.
